KC CARE Renovation
A comprehensive, multi-floor transformation of KC CARE Health Center’s Broadway location in Kansas City, expanding clinical capacity across medical, behavioral health, and dental services to serve an under-resourced community.
Challenge:
KC CARE provides essential daily care to thousands of patients, meaning the clinic could not shut down during construction. We needed to execute complex infrastructure overhauls, including deep excavation to waterproof an exterior foundation wall bearing an iconic community mural, installing underground utility lines beneath concrete slabs, and completely rebuilding clinical suites, all while keeping the facility fully operational and safe for patients and staff.
Solution:
We developed a meticulous multi-phase construction plan that allowed the clinic to temporarily vacate small, targeted zones while work progressed floor by floor. By coordinating specialized underfloor plumbing and electrical lines directly into the new second-floor dental chairs, integrating high-density file storage, and modernizing the building’s exterior and main entrance for full accessibility, we delivered a state-of-the-art facility without interrupting patient care.
