Renovation for Halfway School

Halfway’s cafeteria was bursting at the seams, and the result was some students eating lunch at 10:30am. The cafeteria was landlocked, so an addition was out of the question. Tearing out a portion of the building was one of the options.

Challenge:

Accommodate an overcrowded lunchroom, upgrade the library to meet MSIP requirements and keep the project in budget.

Solution:

Instead of an addition we recommended a renovation, which was much cheaper. The existing lunchroom became a new library that met MSIP recommendations. The old library was converted into a computer lab, which was previously located on the stage of the old gym. We came in under the $400,000, and created lots of new functional spaces for the students and teachers.
