General and Pediatric Surgery
This facility is home for 7 doctors, their support staff and ancillary functions. They have 4 procedure rooms and 12 exam rooms which help facilitate the care of their patients—both pre and post op. This was a large suite; therefore, it was divided into “pods” to help with efficient circulation for staff and the patient.
Challenge:
Efficiency in design to minimize the number of steps for nurses and staff.
Solution:
We broke the space into “pods” that reduce the travel to each pod by the patient. This efficient design also reduced the number of steps for doctors, nurses and staff, lessening fatigue.
