Lakeland Behavioral Health System– Gym Renovation

Lakeland Behavioral Health System– Gym Renovation

Lakeland wanted to update their gym for their psychiatric adolescent patients, as well as, make the area more quiet as to not overstimulate the children. Security was of the utmost importance while still making the children feel welcome and finding durable materials to minimize long term maintenance costs. We brought color and additional acoustical performance into the room with acoustical wall panels, while keeping the colors subdued to help calm the children. This project was very successful and we have had many favorable comments on the area. The acoustics are so good in this space they also use it for a large conference room.

Challenge:

Durable materials and high acoustic characteristics.

Solution:

Exceeded all the goals of the project, so much so they have an addition space to hold seminars, conference speakers, etc.

What the Client Says:

I have been working with Stephanie and her team for over a decade. She is very knowledgeable and resourceful producing solutions for our main hospital campus that is over 115 years old. Unlike some of my experiences with other architects Stephanie and her team are very responsive in returning emails and messages the same business day and setting up meetings usually within a few days. Stephanie is very established in the Midwest; for many years she has developed relationships at the county, city, and state levels, which is very helpful in expediting projects.
