Hospital Chemistry Lab Renovation

Hospital Chemistry Lab Renovation

The existing Chemistry lab was divided into small rooms precluding visibility and resulting in the inefficient circulation which was especially difficult for the night time staff. With this renovation the hospital was able to upgrade equipment, making for better turnaround of result for the doctors and patients. This was one of the first projects in which the new Infection Control Initiative was enacted at St. John’s in Springfield. I worked with the Infection Control Department on writing the standards because I had attended several seminars at the Harvard Graduate/ Seminar program and brought back the latest information which was incorporated into the new policy.

Challenge:

Developing Infection Control Standard to be used during construction.

Solution:

Attended seminars at Harvard Graduate/ Seminar Program which gave me the expertise to help build their standard.
